Lulu Thamani is a Swahili name that means Precious Pearls.

Lulu Thamani was founded in 2014 and legally registered in April 2015 as a Community Based Organization. In 2018, we officially transitioned to a Social Enterprise to facilitate the organizations commercial activities.

Improving the economic and social well-being of women from under-served communities in East Africa

We believe in the value and richness in communities.  Unearthing this, we believe women from rural communities can grow in harmony and work collaboratively to improve their well being. This is why we exist.

We seek to support women to grow their businesses and girls stay in school by equipping them with business, social and life skills they need to effect sustainable change within their communities. By 2023, we aspire to reach rural and undeserved communities in all 47 counties in Kenya through our work. So far we our work is in 5 counties, 7 community representatives in the various areas. The counties are Kwale, Kilifi, Kajiado,Nairobi and Nakuru. We also hope to reach other communities in East Africa countries during this period.
