We give customized business and leadership skills training to fit the various audiences in the communities we visit, groups(chamas) and organizations we have partnered with. We mainly work with smallholder women farmers, micro enterprises and cooperatives.

Since 2015,we have held open conferences that small businesses’ owners and members of table-banking groups attend.These are intense forums featuring basics for developing business plans plus introduction to Lulu Thamani membership. Interested participants then apply for coaching and training by Lulu Thamani experts and subscribe to a yearly support for their group(chama).

How We Work:

• Identify an area we can work with by mapping out needs in the area. With this, we pick out institutions and community leaders that we can partner with.
• We use the community leaders to call for women in the community and neighboring communities. (This program does not restrict any woman from joining.)
• Once registered into the program, we hold an introduction session where they are required to form groups and identify the activities they plan to carry out.
• With this, we financially support their group registration and bank account opening
• We proceed to train the women groups according to the needs of the groups and impart them with leadership, business and social skills.
• The duration of training is 4 months but this is dependent on the skill-set and needs of the groups.
• These groups can access micro-finance loans to develop their programs and businesses.

To achieve social impact,we appoint regional directors to every area we visit for accountability. The director ensures that groups access  facilities such as community space and other equipment needed for their meetings.We have a database of group leaders for constant updates and reporting.
